I created this series in June/early July 2020 as a response to the pandemic of Covid-19.
We go through the ups and downs life presents us with, the phases of disappointment, despair, and depression, but also moments of joy, serenity, and compassion. Every day is different.
Therefore, the main color of every little art quilt changes from one piece to the next. What remains constant in each piece is a stripe of black fabric, shades of gray, but also white and yellow.
All we can do is take one day after the other and believe that eventually, we will conquer this pandemic.
Despite the frustration we might feel at times, we must not give up hope. No matter how much darkness we might encounter, there will always be light!
There Will Always Be Light #1 – #25
6” high x 6” wide x 1.75” deep (15 cm high x 15 cm wide x 4.5 cm deep)
batik fabrics, machine-pieced, machine-quilted, mounted on stretched canvas
You can find several digital in-situ images here, but I also recommend for you to check out my shop for additional pictures of each piece.
