Commission for the Jacobson Building in Rochester, MN
In 2013, it was my great honor to create three art quilts as a commission for a very large and well-known hospital in Rochester, MN. The pieces are displayed in the Jacobson Building, a newly built state-of-the art facility for cancer treatment.
The depicted leaves – Ginkgo, Bamboo and Sacred Fig – are all considered symbols of longevity. It is my hope that patients, family members and caregivers at this facility find a moment of inner peace when they contemplate these symbols of longevity.
The art quilts depicted here are based on smaller pieces I had created years earlier and were discovered on my website by an art agent, who then facilitated the commission. You can see the original pieces, which are only 6″x6″ large, here.
