Dear Art Lovers and Students,
As an artist I spend many days in my studio creating art quilts in solitude. Although I enjoy this quiet time, the interaction with you is a vital component for not feeling lost in a void. I’m grateful for each and every one of you!
Thank you for supporting me on my journey as an artist, for visiting my exhibitions, for stopping by for a conversation during Third Friday Art Walks, for sending me feedback via email, for staying connected with me through social media, for giving my art quilts a new home, and for your interest in my classes, workshops, and lectures. Without you, my work would be less meaningful.
I will take tomorrow off to spend time with my husband, and my son, who will come home from college. Since my husband and I both immigrated into the US, we don’t have any other family on the continent. But we are blessed with friends who will join us tomorrow. Life is good.
May life be good for you as well! May you enjoy Thanksgiving with family and friends, at work ensuring that others are cared for or as volunteers for less fortunate people. If you are not able to celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow, then celebrate it on another day. Any day is a good day to say ‘Thank You’! And if you don’t feel like celebrating at all, because a chair at the table is empty and your heart is aching, then take comfort in knowing that with time comes healing.
Wishing you all a peaceful Thanksgiving!
With gratitude,
Christine
