ARTQUILTSrivers was a project between the Professional Art Quilters Alliance - South (PAQA-South) and the Taiwan Art Quilt Society (TAQS), led by Ann Flaherty from PAQA-South and Lin Hsin-Chen from TAQS. There were a total of 12 art quilts, 6 of which were created by selected members of PAQA-South and six created by members of TAQS. To make it equally challenging for us here in the US using inches and the Taiwanese using the metric system all art quilts have a defined size: 50 cm wide by 50 inches long! The interpretation of the theme "rivers" was up to the individual artist. However, there is a river flowing through each art quilt at a pre-determined position. So when hung together, all art quilts have a continuous river visually connecting the individual pieces.
