In the beginning things don’t work out the way we would want them to. But it’s only a couple of times and therefore, we ignore it. The mishaps happen more often and we think we need to do something about. We think, but we don’t act. Eventually, the problem becomes annoying enough to require a real solution.
That is how I felt about my website.
I had designed and created it myself. My skills in HTML date back to the dinosaur age and there were more and more demands on my website that I could not program how I had envisioned them. Sure, I could create a link to my Facebook page. I started a blog but I didn’t like the layout and no matter how often I tried to address the issue I still wasn’t happy. And then my sign-up form for the newsletter (big sigh). If anyone out there in this big world signed up for my newsletter I apologize but none of the information actually was recorded (that I know of).
It was time to address the problem. Hence, I hired a professional web designer. Working with Holly Knott was great. She went through quite a number of iterations with me until everything looked the way I wanted it. She was there for me to answer countless questions. She created a comprehensive tutorial for me that applied to my website. Yes, not just a generic tutorial but one that’s customized for me! I added a lot of the content to the website myself but Holly was only an email away when I ran into an issue – which was usually caused by my curiosity exploring procedures differently than described in the tutorial.
Today is the day the new website goes live!
Now there are easy links to follow me on different social media platforms, my blog posts look much nicer and you can even sign up for an RSS feed, and you are now able to sign up for my newsletter without any glitches! Just go to the bottom of each webpage and voilá, you can simply click on a icon! On my blog posts you’ll find the icons also on the right side of the page. How easy is that – go try it!
I’m so excited about today’s launch. New beginnings can be challenging but also oh so gratifying!
Please take a look at my new website and let me know what you think. I would appreciate your feedback.
